Panel Explores Role of Women

Achieving the UN SDGs: Mobilizing Women, Youth and Communities to Co-Create the World We Want - A Panel Presentation and Dialog at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women

NEW YORK - March 7, 2016 - The 60th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women will take place at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 14 to 24 March 2016. This year, the priority theme is "Women’s empowerment and the link to sustainable development." With the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) officially coming into force in January 2016, more strategic thought, action and collaboration is needed to engage the public and all sectors in order to enable the aims of the SDGs. To explore this, Women's International Center Foundation and the International Women’s Think Tank will sponsor an International panel entitled "Achieving the SDGs: Mobilizing Women, Youth and Communities to Co-Create the World We Want".

Global change agent and UN-NGO Advisor, Kimberly King, will serve as keynote speaker and moderator for this discussion.
