The event, entitled, West Point INSPIRES STEM serves as a catalytic force in engaging diverse student populations in the arenas of STEM while introducing the assets of the United States Military Academy at West Point. The educational outreach endeavor also compliments USMA Superintendent, LTG Robert Caslen’s priority of reaching into underserved communities while engaging local and regional influencers and students from divergent backgrounds, thus providing a unique “West Point experience that generates awareness…and builds relationships.”

Georgia Tech will serve as the higher educational partner for a day long STEMulating experience that will involve approximately 100 female cadets form the metro Atlanta area. JROTC Cadets will work with cadets from the USMA as well as students from Georgia Tech, private industry and the Center For Urban Innovation to launch the West Point INSPIRES STEM platform in the following disciplines of:

· Computer Engineering

· Biomedical Engineering

· Civil Engineering

· Finance

The event will serve as a project based initiative that highlights real world problem solving which will introduce female STEMpreneurs to educational options and career possibilities in the ubiquitous world of STEM and 21st century learning.

Private sector partners benefit from encouraging STEM educational acumen and creating STEM pipeline that directly impact their goals of human capital development, internships and workforce development in STEM Based industries.
