International Day of the Girl Child

On October 9, 2026, the International Women’s Think Tank proudly joins the global community in honoring the International Day of the Girl Child, officially observed by the United Nations on October 11.

This year’s observance reminds us of the importance of protecting girls’ rights, amplifying their voices, and investing in their futures.

In that spirit, we are proud to announce the launch of “The Living Archive” a digital repository dedicated to preserving and amplifying the stories, oral histories, photographs, letters, and lived experiences of women and girls.

“The Living Archive” connects generations, ensuring that the wisdom of those who came before us is preserved while creating space for girls today to recognize that their voices are already part of history. Their stories matter. Their voices matter. Their futures matter.
